The non-motor symptoms pre-dates the appearance of motor symptoms which reflect the deposition of alpha synuclein in regions of the brain which interfered with dopaminergic pathways. Sexual dysfunction is common in PD and hypersexuality is a known impulse control disorder (ICD) secondary to dopaminergic treatment. Hypersexuality as a prodrome to motor symptoms associated with sexual dysfunction is not well described. Consequences of hypersexuality which resulted in criminal acts may not be pardoned based on medical grounds alone.
