Yoga presents a holistic strategy for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus and its associated complications
through lifestyle modifications. This approach encompasses various practices, including asanas
(postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and adherence to a sattvic diet, all coupled
with mental discipline. Research indicates that yoga can significantly mitigate the risks of complications
in adults with type 2 diabetes by enhancing physical fitness, activating vital organs such as the pancreas,
and improving stress management. Given that stress and a sedentary lifestyle are key contributors to the
onset of type 2 diabetes, the incorporation of yoga has been shown to effectively regulate blood sugar
levels and promote overall well-being. This communication aims to underscore the importance of yoga
as a beneficial intervention for individuals coping with the challenges of type 2 diabetes.
